What makes a good source card?

Well this one is quite simple. An excellent source card is one which contains the authors, editors, publisher, and date of publication. All the data necessary to format a bibliography.

Cards with complete source data are useful for formatting bibliographies. Ilaro supports the Citation Style Language to offer bibliography formatting to users. We are constantly working to add more styles and improve support for reference formatting and export.

Of course, entering that data can sometimes be a pain, especially if one forgets to enter the data in the first place! Ilaro supports WorldCat search to allow you to search for sources in the WorldCat catalog and save the important reference data locally. To search online, just select the search option after choosing to add source.

More than just references

Ilaro takes the idea of storing references to the next level by using your note and topic cards to track topics commonly used in content from that source. On the grid, the source card reports the name of the source, comments, format and topic category color, and topics that share notes with the card’s topic. Related topics are reported using the related item name along with a number in parentheses representing the number of notes each item has in common with the card source.
